Restorative Dentistry

Restorative_DentistryRestorative dentistry is the art of repairing severely damaged and broken teeth or correcting other serious dental problems. Many dental problems are unavoidable – such as a cracked or broken tooth. Other times problems arise from neglect or poor oral hygiene. In any of these cases, early treatment can stop the damage from growing worse and save what is left of a healthy tooth.

At Champaign Dental Group, our first goal is always to repair damage and restore the strength and integrity of your teeth. Restoring a damaged tooth will allow us to save as much of your natural tooth structure as possible. If a tooth cannot be saved, we may recommend an extraction to prevent further complications.

What Restorative Dentistry Services Do You Offer?

The goal of restorative dentistry is always to correct oral health problems while preserving as much of the natural tooth, gum, and bone structure as possible. To make sure your mouth stays healthy for years to come, we offer a variety of restorative dentistry services.

These services include:

  • Dental bridges
  • CEREC crowns
  • Dental implants
  • Full and partial dentures

Our skilled and compassionate team is here to do whatever we can to keep your oral health in top shape!

What Are Dental Bridges?

Dental bridges are a treatment option for those who need to replace one or more teeth. They bridge the gap where a missing tooth used to be.

To do this, a dental bridge is attached to the healthy teeth on either side of a gap with dental crowns. Depending on how many teeth are missing, one or more crowns will then be placed onto the bridge to serve as replacement teeth.

Although your new teeth do not have any roots, they will still look and feel natural.

What Are CEREC Crowns?

CEREC crowns are same-day crowns that we make in our office. By using advanced imaging and 3D printing technology, we can configure and create custom crowns for you in a single visit! They can be used to fix cracked and broken teeth, or top dental implants and bridges.

What Are Dental Implants?

A dental implant is a small device used to replace a missing tooth.

First, a base is attached to the jawbone beneath the gums. This will act as an artificial root system for your replacement tooth. Once your implant has healed, the implant will be topped with a personalized crown. Implants are the sturdiest and most natural-feeling tooth replacement option.

What Is the Difference Between Full and Partial Dentures?

Full dentures are designed to replace every tooth in a person’s mouth. Full dentures can replace the top teeth, bottom teeth, or all. Partial dentures are designed to replace many, but not all of a person’s row of teeth. Both types of dentures are removable and easy to take care of!
